As you can probably tell from the name of our website, we are not spring chickens. We started this site to share what we have learned and accomplished along our journey so far, as well as our continued ventures. We are she (Peggy), and he (RC). We are passionate, extremely dedicated, resourceful and a little bit crazy as it relates to preservation and home design. We are actively involved in all our projects and perform some of the work ourselves.
Our adventures really began when we retired many years ago. Peggy has always had a passion for interior design and efficient home functionality. So, obviously given the fact that we were going to have plenty of time on our hands, she had a plan, a BIG PLAN! Why not start with a real challenge? What could that be you ask? Please read on.
Peggy has always wanted to preserve a barn and convert it into a home. During our numerous visits to Vermont in the years just prior to our retirement, Peggy noticed that many of the wonderful old barns there were being lost due to disrepair. Yes, you guessed it, the Vermont barn search was on. We were fortunate to find our featured property in the beautiful town of Enosburg, Vermont.
In addition to the Vermont barn home project, we will be sharing a lot more posts about our other projects and ventures. All of our projects are Peggy’s visions and designs. Whether designing a single room or whole home, she believes that the effort should result in the creation of a space that you can’t wait to enter and never want to leave.
We are preservationists and incorporate many vintage items in our designs. We are constantly searching for vintage plumbing, lighting and other items of interesting architectural salvage that we can feature in our projects.
